Performance Taster Day
WHERE: UEA Campus and Sportspark Facilities.
WHEN: This is best held on weekends (dependent on availability of facilities and staff), preferably between October-March for those working to UCAS deadlines.
WHO FOR: Ideal for external clubs and academies, or teams from a post 16 education provider. This is best suited for teams from the following sports; Basketball Men’s and Women’s, Football Men’s and Women’s, Hockey Men’s, Netball Women’s, Rugby Men’s and Women’s. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
WHAT: Get a taste of what it is like to be a part of one of our performance teams for a day! We aim to create a welcoming environment in which participants are exposed to a University performance set up. This includes a tactical session held by UEA head coach of the respective Sport, supported by current UEA players. A Sport-specific strength and conditioning session, run by UEA Sport Strength and Conditioning Coach, UEA Sport Physiotherapist and supported by UEA Head coach and current players. Classroom session and lunch with participants, all supporting staff, current players and parents. Tour of UEA campus. Can include video analysis session or different taster activity (eg. Use of Sportspark climbing wall) upon request. Day lasts between 3-5 hours. Don’t see your sport listed above but still interested? Get in touch! We’d be happy to accommodate.
Performance Taster Session

WHEN: This is best held on weekdays or weekends (dependent on availability of facilities and staff), preferably between October-March for those working to UCAS deadlines.

WHAT: Get a taste of what a session looks like for one of our performance sports. Led by the UEA Head coach for that Sport and supported by current UEA players. We aim to create a welcoming environment in which participants are exposed to a University performance set up. Expect a breakdown of tactical elements of the sport, skill specific drills, Strength and Conditioning exercises and Matchplay. Sessions are usually between 60-90 minutes. Showcase Fixture
WHERE: Best held at UEA Sportspark facilities but can be held at your home venue.
WHEN: Best held on a weekday evening or weekend, dependent on UEA Team availability.
WHO FOR: This is suitable for teams of the following Sports that compete at a high/competitive level; Basketball Men’s and Women’s, Football Men’s and Women’s, Hockey Men’s, Netball Women’s, Rugby Men’s and Women’s. This can be school teams or external club teams, where majority of players are in post 16 education. Previous partners include Norwich School Netball Team, St Joseph’s College Netball team and Gresham’s Men’s Hockey Team. Parents welcomed and encouraged to attend.
WHAT: A showcase fixture between your team and a current UEA Team (of matched ability). We have the opportunity to host indoor fixtures on the show court with bleacher seating, welcoming a large number of spectators. Don’t see your sport listed above but still interested? Get in touch! Taster Session
WHERE: This can be held at UEA Sportspark, or can be delivered at your home venue.
WHEN: Weekday or weekend, dependent on facility/staff availability, can be flexible.
WHO FOR: This session is ideal for student groups or external clubs that have participants that may be interested in attending University. Suitable for individuals that are interested in Sport and Physical activity, but do not necessarily participate at a competitive level.
WHAT: The aim of this session is to showcase the wide variety of sports that are available at University, highlighting ones that students may not have encountered before. The session will have a participation focus and will be suitable for all abilities. Sessions can include, Dance, Cheerleading, American Football, Martial Arts as well as a wide range of other sports available at UEA (see our club page for the full list of sports we offer). The session content will vary depending on the sport and whether it is hosted at UEA or your home venue. Sessions are usually between 60-90 minutes.
Skills/classroom session
WHERE: This can be held on UEA campus or can be delivered at your home venue in a classroom setting.
WHEN: Can be completely flexible
WHO FOR: This session is ideal for post 16 students who may be interested in attending University. This session is suitable for anyone, not just those interested in Sport/Physical activity.
WHAT: This is an interactive session, held in a classroom or hall, which aims to broaden participants skillsets and better prepare them for life as an adult. Examples of sessions include ‘Communication’ with an interactive lego activity, ‘Leadership’ with an interactive activity involving building Spaghetti and Marshmallow towers. This will include a brief advertisement of our Sporting offer. Sessions usually between 60-90 minutes.
