Our UEA sports clubs rely on the fantastic work which their committees do each year to ensure that they can run effectively and efficiently, providing endless opportunities and memories for their members along the way.

What positions make up a Sports Club committee?

We require every club, as part of their constitution, to have the following positions to operate as a Sports Club:

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Equality & Diversity Officer
  • Union Council Rep
  • Health & Safety Officer
  • First Year rep (election runs in November time)

Each club then has additional positions to help run the club, such as social secretaries, publicity secretaries and kit secretaries, which align to how they operate.

How to I become a committee member?

Committee elections run around April each year, where you will be able to put yourself forward for the position(s) which are you interested in taking on. Elections are run by the UEA Student’s Union and club members vote for each elected member of the committee.
