Awards

Most Improved School – ARTD/HUM!
The ARTS/HUM team was a new combinations of the schools this year, with only two student activators to cover an entire faculty, there was no telling how their participation’s in the Ziggurat Challenge was going to go. Last year AMA/HIS/LDC finished in 16th place, with PPL/IIH only two spaces ahead in 14th. This year the ARTS/HUM team have defied all odds and finished in an incredible 8th place! This almighty jump up the leaderboard is no doubt thanks to the hard work and perseverance of Millie and Jenny (LDC Activators), Michael and Helena (II H Staff Champions) and Emma (LDC Staff Champion). Congratulations!

Critic’s Choice – CHE/NAT
CHE/NAT have had a fantastic year and seen incredible commitment from the students and staff. This is no small part to the fantastic attitude they bring to the Ziggurat Challenge each week. This team buys into the friendly sporting competition and sense of community that Ziggurat represents. Their activators are always the first to lend a hand with the smooth running of events in any way they can. Congratulations all!

Most Sporting Staff Champion – Emma Elliott PSY/LDC – Emma has been so dedicated that she stayed and played in both pools each week in order to earn both PSY and LDC their Staff Champion points. She only missed one event all year and that was only due to the fact she couldn’t fit in a trip to the bowling alley in her 45 minute lunch break!
Well done and thank you Emma!

Most Sporting Head of School – Jonathan Dickens SWK – Despite being his very first year of involvement with the Ziggurat Challenge, Jonathan made his mark on the leaderboard straight away by earning himself an extra point for being the fastest male Head of School in the cross county event. He has been in 1st place since event 7 and having only missed 2 events all year. Our rightful winner is Professor Jonathan Dickens!

Ziggurat Winners 2019-20 – The School of Biological Sciences!

A huge congratulations to the winning team, who have finished the year with an incredible 2599 points and are taking home the Ziggurat Challenge trophy for the 7th year running!
We would like to say a big well done to you all for another great year of the Ziggurat Challenge. The gaps in the leaderboard are getting smaller each year and we can’t wait to see who will take home the 2020-21 trophy!
