Introducing.....Clash of the Clubs

Introducing our brand new programme Clash of the Clubs! Ever wondered which of our 58 sports clubs is the all-round best? Well now we're about to find out as we challenge our clubs to participate in a variety of online physical (and sometimes mental) challenges!

Our department has been working closely with Lizzie Payne and the sport exec to come up with a range of online events that we hope will provide all of our clubs with a chance to interact with their members and compete in friendly rivalry with other clubs.

How many toilet roll keepie uppies do you reckon you could do? Find out by taking part in a new sporting programme called Clash of the Clubs, pitting uea+sport clubs against each other in a series of novel challenges.

Each of our 58 sports clubs are invited to take part in a selection of events from the comfort of their household, to prove their fitness, sportsmanship and team work.

UV Zumba, chess and a question of sport quiz are just a couple of the activities included in the programme which students can take part in, no matter what part of the world they are currently in.

The first event begins on 5 February and the regular challenges run until the Easter break where a club will be crowned the Clash of the Clubs winner.

Some events will be scored based on performance and some on the percentage of people participating from each club. There will be an ongoing leader board so each team knows the ones to watch and can encourage and motivate each other.

There will also be a number of ongoing challenges with some fun themes. And the UEA+Sport team have vowed to take part in the challenges they’ve set themselves, so you’ll also have them as rivals!

Those who are already part of a sports club should contact their club president for more information, and anyone who isn’t in a sports club can get involved by emailing studentsport@uea.ac.uk.
