What do you like about Moves and how has it impacted your physical activity levels?
I installed the app just a few weeks before the first lockdown in March and it has really motivated me to increase my levels of physical activity. I am especially engaged with the Steps Challenges and, if I am being honest, I have become a bit obsessed in my pursuit in accumulating points to gain rewards. I recently acquired the rather fetching UEA Moves hoodie – in fact, I have two, although my daughter decided she wanted the other one! The recent addition of the Leader board, where you can see how your points compare with your friends, has amplified by obsession with the app still further!
What is your physical activity Top Tip?
Joking aside, in the current climate where many university staff and students are working from home getting regular changes of scene and doing some form of physical activity, I believe, is really important. I tend to build up my steps taking, and then collecting, my son from school. Whilst I am out walking, I tend to listen to podcasts, audiobooks and my favourite 90s dance music! I have also been known to use my son’s trampoline in the garden. It is great I can do these activities whilst getting rewarded.
