Training Times & Venues
Before you sign up to sessions please make sure that you have purchased your membership. If you are interested in a taster session please send us a message on our socials or email.
We run sessions on Wednesday and Sunday every week during term time, from 13.00-16.00.
We meet at the water sports shed, which can be found at Suffolk Terrace Block C (red dot on map) at 13.00, where we get changed and pick up the boats. We then head down to the River Yare on campus, by the bridge on the other side of the lake.
At the sessions we work on building up your kayaking skills, going for a leisurely paddle along the river, playing some raft games and occasionally paddling down down to the weir.
To sign up to a session go to our Facebook page where a signup sheet is posted every week. Put your name down to reserve a boat.
All equipment hire! Boats, paddles, buoyancy aids, spray decks, cagoules, boots, wetsuits, and more!
What should I bring?
Something to wear in the water/under a wetsuit/change of clothes, shoes you don’t mind getting wet and a towel.
After kayaking come and join us at the SU bar!
We hope you’re excited to get paddling and we can’t wait to meet you all!
Guide to Club Costs
Kayak is an inclusive, friendly club with a great array of ways to get involved. Outside of kayaking we run regular socials (including brunches, bar crawls, club nights, games nights and joint socials with other water sports clubs) and are actively involved in raising money and awareness for charities (we recently ran a campus wide litter pick with other water sports clubs in support of the UEA COP26 Festival).
Please feel free to drop us an email via firstname.lastname@example.org or a message on our Instagram @ueakayak or our Facebook page UEA Kayak Club if you have any questions or queries, we would love to hear from you!
