Ice Hockey & Figure Skating at UEA

We are UEA Ice: home of ice hockey team UEA Avalanche, ice skating, and figure skating. It doesn't matter if you have never stepped skate on the ice, or have skated your whole life - you are welcome here! We are a development club that aims to make ice skating and its variety of sports as accessible as possible. No equipment or experience is needed! We provide all kit/skates for free (subject to availability) and offer transport to Cambridge Ice Rink for our on-ice sessions.

Training Times and Venues

Ice Hockey

  • Fortnightly Fridays leaving for Cambridge Ice Rink at 22:15 for ice time at 00:15 – 02:15
  • Off-ice training at Sportspark on fortnightly Thursday evenings 21:15 – 22:15

Rec skating/ figure skating:

  • Fortnightly Tuesdays leaving for Cambridge at 17:30 for 19:00 – 21:00 ice time

Figure Skating 

Attendence at Ice Factor (inter university figure comp), 2nd Place in Category A, 2nd Place in Category B. Received Sportsmanship award “Best University, but not for skating”, very much treasured by those who attended.
