Did you know, if everyone boiled only the water they needed every time they used the kettle, we could save enough electricity in a year to power the UK’s street lights for nearly seven months?

So, next time you want to make yourself a hot drink, rather than fill your kettle to the top each time you boil it, fill up your mug(s) with the water you need for your drink, then pour it into the kettle and boil. This way, only the water that is needed for your drink(s) has been boiled, and no electricity has been wasted.

They found that of Britain’s six biggest tea brands, only three triumph with plastic-free bags: Clipper, PG Tips and Pukka. Meanwhile Twinings, Yorkshire and Tetley all reveal plastic skeletons.
